Ettore Germano
Ettore Germano is a leading Barolo estate based just outside the village of Serralunga d'Alba, in the southeast corner of the Barolo appellation. The Germano family has grown grapes in Serralunga since 1856, originally centered on a plot in the Cerretta cru. The estate is named after Sergio Germano's father Ettore, who was the first to bottle and sell wine commercially. Sergio Germano, a graduate of the Alba School of Enology who trained at Fontanafredda before returning to the family estate, bottled the winery's entire production for the first time in 1993 and expanded its holdings in the celebrated Prapò and Lazzarito crus in 2002 and Cerretta in 2001. Today Sergio and his wife Elena farm roughly 10 hectares in Serralunga d'Alba and another 9-10 hectares in Cigliè, in the Alta Langa. The estate is renowned for structured, age-worthy single-vineyard Barolo from Prapò, Cerretta, and Lazzarito, and is equally celebrated for pushing quality boundaries beyond Nebbiolo, producing one of Italy's finest Rieslings and outstanding Alta Langa Metodo Classico sparkling wines from its high-altitude Cigliè vineyards.

Gabutti di Boasso Franco
A family-run Barolo estate based in Serralunga d'Alba, founded in the early 1970s by Franco Boasso and today run by his sons Ezio and Claudio. The winery farms roughly 7 hectares across the celebrated MGA vineyards of Gabutti, Margheria, and Meriame. Winemaking follows traditional Serralunga methods — extended maceration (around 15 days for Barolo Serralunga, with a further 15 days of submerged-cap maceration for the Gabutti and Margheria crus) and aging in large Slavonian oak casks — producing powerfully structured, age-worthy Barolo with a distinct sense of place.
