Cascina Penna-Currado is a boutique winery in Serralunga d'Alba, founded in 2023 by Elena Penna and Luca Currado Vietti, who for decades led the iconic Vietti estate in Castiglione Falletto before departing in January 2023. This family-run project, joined by their children Michele and Giulia, is based in Cascina Lazzarito, a restored 16th-century farmhouse (1554) once owned by the Marquises Falletti, who invented Barolo. The estate practices artisanal, organic viticulture across roughly 13 hectares, including holdings in San Sebastiano di Monforte and Barolo vineyards across several communes. Wines produced include Barolo, Barbera d'Alba, Dolcetto d'Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, Nebbiolo d'Alba, and Timorasso Derthona, with the debut 2023 vintage released. The philosophy emphasizes freshness, verticality, and biodiversity, moving away from over-concentration to reflect the authentic essence of the Langhe.
