Family-run since 1711, Weingut Acham-Magin is one of the founding members of the VDP (dating back to the 1908 predecessor association of the Naturwein-Versteigerer der Rheinpfalz) and is based in Forst an der Weinstraße in the Pfalz. Since 1994 the estate has been run by Anna-Barbara Acham and Vinzenz Troesch, farming roughly 10-12 hectares organically (EU organic certification since 2012) with about 75% Riesling. Founded in the late 1950s on a farm whose roots trace back to the 1700s, Acquabona is one of the largest and most historic wine estates on the island of Elba, sited between the towns of Portoferraio and Porto Azzurro. Since 1986 the estate has been guided by three agronomist friends — Marcello Fioretti, Ugo Lucchini and Lorenzo Capitani — who set out to revive the island's traditional viticulture, and in 2024 a new generation (Federico Capitani, Riccardo Fioretti, Federico Ballati and Pietro Vallardi) took the helm. Across roughly 15 hectares of vineyards in the Acquabona and Lacona localities, the estate champions native varieties such as Aleatico, Ansonica and Sangiovese, farmed with an increasingly sustainable approach that has phased out broad-spectrum herbicides and insecticides. Acquabona is best known for its Aleatico dell'Elba DOCG, an elegant sweet red passito that has earned international awards, alongside a full range of Elba DOC reds, whites and rosés that capture the island's Mediterranean, sea-influenced terroir.

Founded in 1919 when Carlo Nada acquired the Rombone farm in Treiso, in the heart of the Barbaresco appellation, Ada Nada is a historic family-run estate now in its fourth generation. Since 2001 it has been run by Anna Lisa Nada and her husband Elvio Cazzaro, who tend the estate's 9 hectares of vineyards — concentrated in the prized Valeirano and Rombone crus — largely by hand, with minimal cellar intervention. The winery produces around 45,000 bottles a year, half of it Barbaresco, alongside Barbera, Dolcetto, Nebbiolo, and Moscato d'Asti. AdamsWein is the family estate of Dr. Simone Adams in Ingelheim, Rheinhessen, Germany, founded in 1882. Simone took over unexpectedly in 2010 after her father's sudden death, while completing a doctorate in oenology, and has since converted the property to organic (2017) and biodynamic (2020) farming. Rejecting Riesling in favor of Burgundian varieties -- Pinot Noir, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris and Chardonnay -- she works with old German 'Ritter' clones from her own massale selections rather than imported French clones, relying on whole-cluster and spontaneous fermentation, minimal sulfites, and no fining or filtration. Agri System Co., Ltd. is a Hokkaido agricultural company headquartered in Memuro, Tokachi, and the parent of Tokapuchi, Japan's largest organically managed farm at roughly 370 hectares across four sites on the island. In 2023 the group opened its own winery, Kamui Metok Nupuri, inside the Tomihara Vineyard in Kamifurano — previously the grapes were custom-vinified at 10R Winery in Iwamizawa. The winery is named after an Ainu phrase meaning 'the spirit-dwelling ridge' of the Tokachidake mountain range, and its octagonal, lemniscate-shaped building reflects a philosophy of cyclical harmony between people, animals, and land. Grapes — chiefly Yamasachi, a cold-hardy Hokkaido-native variety grown biodynamically — are vinified as strict vin nature: no added sulfites, native-yeast fermentation, no chaptalization or acid adjustment, and no fining or filtration.

Founded in 1975 in Urasa, Minamiuonuma City, Niigata Prefecture, Agricoa Echigo Winery was Niigata's pioneer in European-style trellised vinifera cultivation, planting varieties such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Kerner in a region better known for Koshihikari rice than wine. Reorganized in 1996 as a public-private venture among Agricoa, Minamiuonuma City, and JA Minami-Uonuma, the winery holds a permanent fruit-wine manufacturing license first granted in 1980. Its signature feature is a yukimuro (snow cellar) that stores up to 250 tons of compacted snow, holding the aging room at a near-constant 5°C year-round — the source of the winery's slogan, 'Nurtured by snow, protected by snow, brewed by snow.' From roughly 2 hectares of estate vineyards, the winery produces about 80,000 bottles a year across red, white, rosé, and sparkling styles, and its wines have won medals at the Japan Wine Competition and the Feminalise World Wine Competition. Agricola Carlini is a small, family-run winery in the San Rocco hamlet of Suvereto, on the Tuscan coast near the Val di Cornia. Founded by Lorenzo Carlini, whose grandfather Bruno once ran a wine business in Chianti's Lucarelli before the mid-1980s methanol scandal prompted a change of course, the estate today farms roughly one hectare of vineyard alongside half a hectare of olive grove in a traditional mixed planting. Lorenzo focuses on bright, mineral white wines -- chiefly Vermentino and Viognier -- alongside reds built from Sangiovese and Prugnolo Gentile. Agricola Matteoli is a small, family-run winery in the medieval hamlet of San Sano, within the township of Gaiole in Chianti. After years away in Milan, the Matteoli family returned to their native Chianti hills to share their love of the land through wine, producing a limited number of handcrafted bottles each year. The estate's vineyards sit on marl- and limestone-rich soils fully exposed to the sun, planted mainly to Sangiovese with a smaller share of Merlot, and are vinified into Chianti Classico DOCG (roughly 82% Sangiovese, 18% Merlot). Founded in 1991 in Treiso by Virginio Molino and his sons Tommaso, Franco and Dario, Agricola Molino is a family estate at the heart of the Barbaresco DOCG zone, joined in 2013 by grandson Marco. The estate farms 16 hectares across Treiso, Guarene and Costigliole d'Asti, following a permaculture-inspired, low-intervention philosophy that replaces herbicides with mulching. Agricola Ottomani was founded in 2006 by four friends who met while studying oenology at the University of Florence. The name 'Ottomani' — meaning 'eight hands' — reflects their collaborative approach, which began with a small rented vineyard and winemaking in a garage. Today the estate farms roughly 15 hectares between the villages of Greve in Chianti and Impruneta, following organic and biodynamic methods and championing indigenous Tuscan varieties such as Sangiovese and Canaiolo. The team has recovered historic vineyards over fifty years old and works with minimal intervention: manual harvest, spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts, and aging in concrete vats or in terracotta amphorae hand-thrown by local Impruneta artisans, a tradition dating back to Roman times. In 2018 they completed a new eco-sustainable cellar with a low environmental footprint. Alongside their Chianti Classico, Chianti Superiore, and amphora-aged wines, Ottomani also produces organic extra virgin olive oil. The estate is a member of the Viticoltori di Greve in Chianti producer association.
