What information Vinami collects, how it's used, which third parties process it, and how to request deletion.

This policy sets out how personal information is handled on Vinami ("the Service").
Information we collect
Provided when you create an account
- Email address
- Passkey (WebAuthn) credentials
We do not collect passwords. Your passkey's private key stays on your device and is never sent to the Service.
Recorded as you use the Service
- Your conversations with the AI sommelier
- Wine records you save (ratings, tasting notes and similar)
- Wine photographs you upload
- Access logs (IP address, browser type, pages viewed)
How we use it
We use the information we collect only for the following purposes.
- Providing and maintaining the Service (authentication, storing conversation history, managing wine records)
- Personalising the AI sommelier's suggestions
- Preventing abuse and maintaining security
- Analysing usage in order to improve the Service
We never sell or supply your conversations or records to third parties for advertising purposes.
Third-party processors
We rely on the following providers to operate the Service.

Some of these providers operate servers outside Japan. By using the Service you consent to your information being transferred internationally.
Except where disclosure is required by law, we do not provide personal information to any third party beyond those listed above.
Cookies
The Service uses cookies for the following purposes.
- Keeping you signed in (
sid): maintains your logged-in session - Authentication state (
webauthn_challengeand similar): safely holds the intermediate state of passkey authentication
Both are necessary for the Service to function. Neither is used for advertising or behavioural tracking.
For analytics we use Vercel Web Analytics, which does not use cookies to identify individuals and collects only aggregate information such as pages viewed and referrers.
You can disable cookies in your browser, but features requiring sign-in will then be unavailable.
Affiliate links
The Service contains affiliate links. Clicking one may cause the destination retailer to set its own cookies. Information handling on the destination site is governed by that retailer's privacy policy.
Sections containing affiliate links are clearly labelled as such.
Retention
Account information, conversations and wine records are retained until you delete your account. Deleting your account deletes this information.
Access logs are retained for a limited period for security and analytics purposes, then deleted.
Access, correction and deletion
If you wish to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal information, please contact us. We will verify your identity and respond promptly.
Minors
Drinking under the age of 20 is prohibited by law in Japan. The Service is intended for people of legal drinking age.
Changes to this policy
We may revise this policy as needed. Significant changes will be announced on this page, and the revised policy applies from the moment it is published here.
