Baldetti is a family-run winery in the hamlet of Pietraia, near Cortona in southeastern Tuscany. The Baldetti family has tended vineyards in the area since the late 1960s, when Mario Baldetti began renovating the estate and moving into bottled wine production. His son Alfonso Baldetti, together with wife Paola and sons Daniele and Gian Luca, expanded the vineyards from 2000 onward alongside the birth of the Cortona DOC, focusing above all on Syrah, which became the reference grape variety for the appellation. A new, modern winery was inaugurated in 2012 at 300m elevation in Pietraia. Today the estate farms roughly 15 hectares planted mainly to Syrah and Sangiovese, along with Merlot, Chardonnay and Grechetto, and has been certified under Italy's SQNPI integrated-production sustainability scheme since the 2022 harvest. The flagship wine is the Cortona DOC Syrah 'Crano', alongside Marius (Sangiovese), Chagrè, Baldo and Leopoldo.
