About this wine

Marius is Baldetti's Cortona DOC Sangiovese, a tribute to Mario Baldetti, the family patriarch who began bottling wine at the estate in the late 1960s-70s and was a great admirer of the Sangiovese grape. The blend of 90% Sangiovese and 10% Merlot is macerated for 8-10 days, aged in concrete tanks and tonneaux for around 8 months, then rests at least 4 months in bottle.

Beginner's Note

A soft, easy-drinking Sangiovese blend — a gentle introduction to Tuscan red wine.

Sommelier's Note

"Marius shows Sangiovese's charming, floral side — a wine named in honor of the family founder and it shows a founder's warmth."

Food Pairings

Violet and blackberry aromas with soft tannins make it versatile with red meat, game, and pasta with meat ragù.

When to drink it

Everyday dinners, casual gatherings with friends, pizza and pasta nights.
