シャトー・ドーザック
Château Dauzac is a 5th Growth (Cinquième Cru) estate in the 1855 Médoc Classification, located in Labarde at the southern tip of the Margaux appellation. The estate holds a remarkable place in wine history: in the 1880s, its vineyards served as the primary testing ground for the development of the 'Bordeaux mixture' (bouillie bordelaise) by Professor Pierre-Marie-Alexis Millardet, the copper sulfate treatment that saved Bordeaux's vineyards from downy mildew and became the foundation of modern viticulture worldwide. The 42-hectare vineyard (45 ha Margaux AOC + 4 ha Haut-Médoc AOC) is planted with 69% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, and 2% Petit Verdot. Its southern position and proximity to the Gironde Estuary give it a slightly warmer microclimate, often making it one of the first châteaux to harvest in the appellation. Owned since 2019 by Christian Roulleau (founder of SAMSIC Group), managed by Laurent Fortin, and advised by renowned oenologist Éric Boissenot, Dauzac is undergoing a transformation toward biodynamic principles while preserving its historic innovation spirit. The estate produces three wines: the grand vin Château Dauzac, the second wine Aurore de Dauzac (from 2013), and Comte de Dauzac.

Château Destieux is an 8-hectare Grand Cru Classé estate perched on one of the highest points of the clay-limestone plateau in Saint-Émilion, offering breathtaking panoramic views over the Dordogne Valley. The estate has been owned and passionately managed by the Dauriac family since 1971, with Christian Dauriac at the helm, combining deep oenological knowledge with a respect for both tradition and innovation. In the 2006 Saint-Émilion classification, Château Destieux was officially recognised as a Grand Cru Classé, a testament to the relentless quality improvements made over decades. The vineyard is planted in a single contiguous block with a varietal composition of 70% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc, and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. The clay-limestone soils, topped with a fine layer of silica at the highest elevations, contribute to wines of remarkable finesse and freshness. The elevated position of the vineyard not only defines the terroir but also ensures excellent drainage and consistent sun exposure, resulting in grapes of exceptional ripeness and complexity. In 1999, the winemaking facilities were significantly upgraded with eight new temperature-controlled wooden vats of 45 hectolitres each, enabling parcel-by-parcel vinification for maximum precision. The wines are matured in 100% new oak barrels for a period of 15 to 24 months, depending on the vintage. The renowned consultant Michel Rolland advises on the winemaking, ensuring that elegance, freshness, and balance remain the hallmarks of every release. Château Destieux wines are characterised by their deep ruby colour with vibrant purple highlights, seductive aromas of dark fruits—blackcurrant, plum, black cherry—interlaced with notes of chocolate, cedar, and warm spices. On the palate, the wines are opulent yet structured, with a rich, concentrated core of fruit, velvety tannins, and a long, spice-infused finish. These are wines built to age gracefully and reward cellaring over many years, developing layers of complexity and tertiary nuances with time.

Château Doisy Daëne is a Second Growth (Deuxième Cru Classé) estate in the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, located on the limestone plateau of Haut-Barsac. Owned by the Dubourdieu family since 1924, the estate spans 18.2 hectares planted with 86% Sémillon and 14% Sauvignon Blanc. Under Pierre Dubourdieu, the estate pioneered the first dry white wine in the Sauternes area in the early 1950s. His son Denis Dubourdieu — professor of oenology at the University of Bordeaux and acclaimed as Bordeaux's foremost authority on white wine — elevated the estate to international renown. Denis introduced L'Extravagant de Doisy Daëne in 1990, an ultra-concentrated rare cuvée from the most botrytised grapes. Following Denis's passing in 2016, his sons Jean Jacques and Fabrice Dubourdieu continue the family legacy. The estate's winemaking philosophy privileges the brilliance of fruit concentrated by noble rot, nervousness, balance, and delicacy of flavors — combining power and freshness in what Denis described as 'endless youth.'

Château Ducru-Beaucaillou is a 1855-classified Second Growth (Deuxième Grand Cru Classé) in Saint-Julien, widely regarded as the quintessential expression of the appellation and one of Bordeaux's definitive 'Super Seconds.' The estate's name derives from 'beaux cailloux' (beautiful pebbles) — the distinctive large gravel stones dominating its 75-hectare vineyard along the Gironde estuary. Wine has been produced on the land since the 13th century; the modern era begins in 1795 when Bertrand Ducru gave the estate its current name. In 1941, Francis Borie purchased the property, and today his grandson Bruno Borie leads the estate with an exacting philosophy: a draconian grape selection policy slashed Grand Vin production from over 20,000 cases to 6,000–8,000 cases per year, elevating quality to unprecedented heights — including six perfect 100-point scores since 2009. The 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot blend is aged 18–20 months in up to 90% new French oak, producing wines of architectural precision, graphite minerality, fine-grained tannins, and extraordinary aging potential of 40–50 years. The estate also holds ISO 14001 and HVE3 sustainability certifications and has practised organic viticulture since the 2018 vintage.

Château Duhart-Milon is the only Fourth Growth (Quatrième Grand Cru Classé) in the Pauillac appellation according to the 1855 Médoc classification. Its vineyard of 76 hectares sits on the plateau of Saint-Lambert, adjacent to Château Lafite Rothschild, the estate that acquired Duhart-Milon in 1962 under Domaines Barons de Rothschild (Lafite). The same technical team as Lafite oversees viticulture: the soils are sandy gravel with variable levels of clay, planted to 67% Cabernet Sauvignon and 33% Merlot. Winemaking follows classic Bordeaux tradition — fermentation in stainless steel and concrete vats, around 20 days maceration, then ageing in French oak barrels (50% new) crafted at the estate cooperage Tonnellerie des Domaines in Pauillac. Since the Rothschild acquisition, substantial investment has elevated quality dramatically, especially from the mid-1990s onwards.

Château Durfort-Vivens is a Second Grand Cru Classé in 1855 located in the Margaux appellation of the Médoc, Bordeaux. The estate traces its roots to the 14th century when the Durfort de Duras family established a hunting lodge on their Margaux lands, which evolved into a wine estate of excellence by the 17th century. The name 'Vivens' was added in 1824 when the estate passed to the Chevalier de Vivens family. Between 1937 and 1961, the estate was owned by Château Margaux and its vines blended into Pavillon Rouge. Lucien Lurton acquired the estate in 1961 and his son Gonzague Lurton took over in 1992, driving a major quality renaissance. The estate became 100% biodynamic in 2013 and obtained dual Bio and Biodynamic (Demeter) certifications in 2016, becoming the first Margaux Grand Cru Classé to achieve this distinction. Spanning approximately 65 hectares across Margaux, Cantenac, Soussans, and Arsac, the estate is planted with 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, and 2% Cabernet Franc on deep gravel and limestone soils with sandy-clay subsoil.
