Château Peyrou is a 10-hectare family estate in Saint-Magne-de-Castillon, bordering the Saint-Émilion appellation. Acquired in 1989 by Catherine Papon-Nouvel — a trained oenologist and granddaughter of Saint-Émilion wine growers — the estate became one of Castillon's earliest and most committed pioneers of organic viticulture. Certified organic by Ecocert since 2008, the vineyard is planted predominantly with Merlot (approximately 90%) on the estate's characteristic clay soils, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. Catherine produces two cuvées: the flagship Château Peyrou from older vines, celebrated for its balance, elegance, and aging potential with seductive aromas of ripe red fruits, black cherry, and subtle spice; and Colombe de Peyrou, a more approachable wine from younger vines on the same terroir. Consistently recognised by the Guide Hachette des Vins, Château Peyrou is a quiet reference for those who seek authentic, minimal-intervention Bordeaux.

Château Piada is one of the oldest and most historic estates in the Barsac-Sauternes region, with documented records dating back to 1274 in the Tributes of Aquitaine. Located on the high plateau of Barsac just 100 metres from the Ciron river, the estate spans 8.22 hectares of clay-silico-limestone soils over asteriae rock, a terroir that delivers exceptional drainage and mineral complexity. The Lalande family has stewarded the estate since Jean-Amédée Lalande purchased it in 1941; since 1989 Jean-Frédéric Lalande has continued this legacy. The vineyards are planted primarily with Sémillon (95%), supplemented by Muscadelle (4%) and Sauvignon Blanc (1%), with average vine age of 50 years and yields as low as 12.5 hl/ha. Botrytis cinerea develops naturally thanks to the morning mists rising from the Ciron river and the warm, sunny afternoons. The wines are aged partly in French oak barriques and partly in stainless steel tanks, producing liqueureux wines celebrated for their aromatic purity, balance of sweetness and freshness, and notes of peach, quince, apricot, honey and linden blossoms. Beyond wine, the estate hosts painting exhibitions featuring artist Marie Lalande and other Bordeaux artists, making it a cultural destination in the Sauternes-Barsac appellation.

Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande is a legendary 1855 Second Growth (Deuxième Grand Cru Classé) estate in Pauillac, Médoc, consistently ranked among Bordeaux's finest 'Super Seconds.' Founded in 1694 when Thérèse de Rauzan brought the vineyard as her dowry upon marrying Baron Jacques de Pichon Longueville, the estate took its current form in 1850 when Baron Joseph de Pichon Longueville's heirs divided the property. The portion inherited by his three daughters—including Virginie, Comtesse de Lalande—became the present château. The 102-hectare estate was acquired by Champagne Louis Roederer (Rouzaud family) in 2007, prompting a $15 million modernization investment including a gravity-fed winery and underground cellar completed in 2012. Under director-general Nicolas Glumineau (appointed 2012), the estate converted to full organic and biodynamic farming, achieving Demeter certification in 2021. The vineyard blend targets 45–60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29–35% Merlot, 7–12% Cabernet Franc, and 4–8% Petit Verdot. The wine is celebrated for its 'iron fist in a velvet glove' character—powerful structure combined with silky, feminine elegance. Château Poujeaux traces its origins to the 16th century, when the estate — then known as La Salle de Poujeaux — belonged to Gaston de l'Isle, the owner of Château Latour. After being divided over generations, the property was reunified by the Theil family in 1921. In 2003, it earned the prestigious Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel designation — the highest tier of the Cru Bourgeois classification. The 70-hectare vineyard rests on ancient Günzian gravels on the Poujeaux plateau, with elevations reaching up to 25 meters, and benefits from an average vine age of 35 years. The blend is built around approximately 50% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot, with small contributions of Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. Since Philippe Cuvelier — also owner of Saint-Émilion's Clos Fourtet — acquired the château in 2008, his son Matthieu has led a meticulous modernisation of viticulture and winemaking: whole-berry fermentation across stainless steel, oak, and concrete tanks with a 25-day cuvaison, followed by 12 months in 40% new French oak barrels. The wines offer notes of dark fruit, pine resin, and subtle spice, with a gentle tannic frame in youth that firms beautifully over time — a benchmark of the Moulis-en-Médoc appellation built for long cellaring.
