Frequently Asked Questions

What does Matsuyoi taste like?
Rich red fruit jam and spice on the nose, followed by a round, velvety palate with silky tannins and a long, structured finish. The 10-month oak aging adds depth without masking the pure Yoichi Pinot character.
How long can I age Matsuyoi?
The combination of cool-climate acidity and oak structure gives Matsuyoi good aging potential — 3 to 5 years from harvest will reward patience, though it is approachable on release.
What food pairs best with Matsuyoi?
Roasted duck, braised short ribs, truffle dishes, and salmon with red wine sauce all work beautifully. The silky tannins make it exceptionally versatile with rich, umami-forward Japanese cooking.
