About this wine
A single-vineyard Riesling from the Eselsforch lieu-dit in the village of Rott, on clay-limestone soils. Pale yellow with golden reflections, it shows aromatic complexity with citrus fruit mingling with mineral and toasted nuances; the palate is racy, dry and delicately fruity, gaining smoky (empyreumatic) character with age. Awarded Gold at Le Mondial des Vins Blancs and at the Vinalies Nationales.
A great introduction to dry Alsace Riesling — citrusy, mineral, and very food-friendly.
Sommelier's Note
"One of Cleebourg's most decorated single-vineyard whites — its Gold medals at the Mondial des Vins Blancs prove this wine punches well above its everyday price."
Food Pairings
Pairs beautifully with grilled or pan-fried white fish, seafood choucroute, and Alsatian tarte flambée. Its racy acidity also cuts through creamy sauces.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What makes Riesling Lieu-Dit Eselsforch different from a standard Alsace Riesling?
- It comes from a single named vineyard (lieu-dit) — Eselsforch, in the village of Rott — rather than a blend of plots, so it expresses the specific clay-limestone terroir of that hillside, with more pronounced minerality and a smoky, empyreumatic edge as it ages.
- Is this Riesling dry or sweet?
- It is vinified dry (sec), with racy acidity and delicate fruit rather than residual sweetness.
- How long can I age this wine?
- It can be enjoyed young for its freshness, but the clay-limestone soil gives it structure to develop smoky, toasted notes over 5-8 years.
