A single-vineyard Gran Selezione made exclusively from Sangiovese grown in the Poggiarso vineyard, at around 500 meters above sea level on rocky soils of alberese, clay and galestro. The south-facing exposure creates significant day-night temperature swings, and the rocky, skeletal terrain produces an austere, structured style of Sangiovese, aged 27 months in 50 hL French oak casks.
Poggiarso's rocky, high-altitude soils give it the most austere, age-worthy profile in Meleto's cru lineup — a wine that rewards patience.

- It comes from a single high-altitude vineyard (around 500m) on rocky alberese and galestro soils, giving an austere, structured style of Sangiovese with strong aging potential.
- What does it taste like?
- Firm, structured and mineral, with dark red fruit, dried herbs and a long, tannic finish typical of Chianti Classico's higher, rockier sites.
- How long should it be aged before drinking?
- It benefits from at least 3-5 years of bottle age to soften its firm tannic structure, and can develop well for a decade or more.
