Casa Emma
カーザ・エンマ
Certified-organic Chianti Classico tended by 80 vineyard geese.
Founded in 1969 when Fiorella Lepri purchased the estate from Florentine noblewoman Emma Bizzarri, Casa Emma is a certified organic Chianti Classico producer owned by the Bucalossi family. Located in San Donato in Poggio, within the municipality of Barberino Tavarnelle, the estate spans 28 hectares of vineyards at 430 meters above sea level. Winemaker Marco Salvadori practices meticulous, low-intervention viticulture rooted in circular-economy principles: a flock of 80 geese roams the Vignalparco vineyard, naturally fertilizing the soil and eating weeds and harmful insects, eliminating the need for tractors, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers. Casa Emma's wines, especially the Chianti Classico Gran Selezione and the single-vineyard Vignalparco Riserva, are celebrated for their elegance, vibrant acidity, and authentic expression of Sangiovese and the terroir of the Chianti Classico hills.
