Acquabona's everyday Elba Rosso DOC, made mainly from Sangiovese (widespread on Elba and preserved through traditional field grafting) with a small portion of Merlot. Low yields of around 50 hl/ha give the wine good structure and balanced tannins.
Le Cote is proof that Elba Sangiovese doesn't need to imitate Chianti to be satisfying — it has its own salty, sun-warmed character.
