Bottled under the Nebbiolo d'Alba DOC — a more accessible sibling appellation to Barolo and Barbaresco — Tardiss is Abrigo Fratelli's varietal Nebbiolo from vineyards around Diano d'Alba, Novello and Sinio. It is aged in wood (a mix of used oak casks and French barriques) for about 12 months, then rests at least 6 months in bottle before release, giving it Nebbiolo's classic aromatic lift with a gentler tannic profile than the estate's Barolo.
If you want to understand what Nebbiolo tastes like before committing to a Barolo price tag, this is the bottle to reach for.
