La Morra
ラ・モッラ
The home of elegant, aromatic, and refined Barolo wines.

Situated at a high altitude, it is renowned for producing Barolo wines characterized by their elegance, perfume, and approachability compared to the more structured wines of neighboring communes. The terroir is dominated by Tortonian soils, which contribute to the refined tannins and floral aromatics often found in its wines. Andrea Oberto
Located in La Morra, the heart of the Barolo region, Andrea Oberto is a family-run winery whose roots trace back to 1959, when Andrea's father purchased a small farmhouse and land. Andrea inherited the estate in 1978 and began bottling wines under his own name instead of selling grapes to cooperatives. Today, working alongside his son Fabio, the estate farms roughly sixteen hectares of vineyards and produces around 125,000 bottles a year, focused on Nebbiolo, Barbera, and Dolcetto. Andrea Oberto is best known for its elegant, terroir-driven Barolo bottlings from the celebrated crus of Rocche dell'Annunziata and Brunate in La Morra, alongside Albarella in the commune of Barolo, plus a classic village-level Barolo. The house style, once decidedly modern with heavy new-oak use, has moved toward a more measured combination of large botti and barrique since the mid-2000s, yielding wines of polish and structure that still speak clearly of their origin in the Langhe hills.

Bovio
Founded in the 1970s by Gianfranco Bovio, an acclaimed local restaurateur who took over and renovated his father Alessandro's small cellar in La Morra, at the heart of the Barolo zone. Gianfranco released his first Nebbiolo in 1976 and went on to establish the estate's flagship single-vineyard Barolos, Arborina and Gattera, alongside Rocchettevino and Parussi. The roughly 10-hectare estate, mostly in La Morra with an additional plot in Castiglione Falletto, produces about 65,000 bottles a year of Dolcetto, Barbera, Nebbiolo, and Barolo. Today the winery is run by the fourth generation, Gianfranco's daughter Alessandra Bovio together with her husband Marco and daughter Elisa, upholding a traditional, terroir-focused style balanced with modern precision that yields elegant, aromatically complex Barolo with silky tannins and strong aging potential.

Cascina Ballarin
Founded in 1928 by Pietro Viberti, known locally by the nickname "Ballarin," Cascina Ballarin is a family-run estate in the Annunziata hamlet of La Morra, in the heart of the Barolo denomination. What began as a mixed farm with cattle, orchards, and a few rows of vines became a dedicated winery in 1985 under Luigi Viberti and his sons Giorgio and Giovanni. Today the estate cultivates vineyards across three prestigious Barolo communes — La Morra, Monforte d'Alba (including a plot in the historic Bussia cru), and Novello — vinifying each site separately to preserve its distinct character. Barolo is the estate's signature wine, produced as single-vineyard bottlings such as Bricco Rocca, Bussia, and Tre Ciabot, alongside Barbera d'Alba, Langhe Nebbiolo, and a traditional-method sparkling wine.

Claudio Boggione
Claudio Boggione is a tiny, largely unknown family estate whose cellar sits just behind the Cannubi hill in the Barolo commune, yet whose single wine comes entirely from the celebrated Brunate cru that straddles Barolo and La Morra. Founded by grandfather Antonio and later run by uncle Armando, the property spent decades selling its grapes to local négociants before Claudio took over in 2006 and began organic farming and estate bottling; since 2008 he has run it together with his father Franco. From roughly one to one and a half hectares of 70-year-old vines, the family produces only about 6,000 to 8,000 bottles a year of Barolo Brunate, fermented with indigenous yeasts, macerated for 15 to 30 days, and aged over two years in large old Slavonian and French oak botti before bottling unfined and unfiltered. With almost no formal distribution, the wine circulates mostly among collectors and sommeliers in the know, making it one of the most sought-after insider bottlings from La Morra's most storied vineyard.
