Rosso di Montalcino

ロッソ・ディ・モンタルチーノ

Castello Banfi

Sangiovese

About this wine

Made from 100% select Sangiovese clones grown on the Banfi estate, this is the estate's approachable 'baby Brunello.' Intense ruby red with violet reflections, it shows black cherry, candied orange peel and dark chocolate on the nose, with soft, structured tannins and good acidity for everyday dining.

Beginner's Note

The easiest, most affordable way to taste Banfi's Sangiovese style before stepping up to Brunello.

Sommelier's Note

"Don't dismiss this as a mere 'second wine' — Banfi's scale means this Rosso is made with the same clonal selection rigor as its Brunello, just bottled younger."

Food Pairings

Versatile with grilled sausages, pasta with tomato-based ragu, roast chicken, and mild aged cheeses.

When to drink it

Casual weeknight dinners and everyday pasta or grilled meat pairings.
