Brunello di Montalcino Riserva Poggio all'Oro
ブルネッロ・ディ・モンタルチーノ リゼルヴァ ポッジョ・アッローロ
Castello Banfi
Sangiovese
About this wine
A single-vineyard Riserva sourced from the Poggio all'Oro cru, planted in 1978 on Montalcino's southern slopes. Produced only in exceptional vintages, it shows dark ruby/garnet color, layered aromas of wild berry, cherry, wet earth, wild rose and grilled herb, with firm but polished tannins and remarkable aging potential.
A serious collector's Brunello — best approached after some experience with the estate's entry-level bottling.
Sommelier's Note
"Banfi's single-vineyard cru Riserva — one of the most age-worthy wines the estate produces, and a serious rival to Montalcino's smaller artisan Riservas."
Food Pairings
Best suited to slow-braised red meats, truffle dishes, and long-aged Pecorino or Parmigiano; give it two hours of decanting before serving.
When to drink it
Milestone celebrations, long-term cellaring, and pairing with the finest cuts of meat.

Frequently Asked Questions

- As a structured single-vineyard Riserva, it is built for long-term cellaring and can develop positively for well over a decade.

Brunello di Montalcino
RedSangiovese
Castello Banfi's flagship Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, made from 100% Sangiovese Grosso grown across the estate's Montalcino vineyards. Deep ruby in color with aromas of blackberry, cassis, licorice and a hint of rose petal, it is full-bodied with soft, well-integrated tannins and bright acidity built for long aging.
ブルネッロ・ディ・モンタルチーノ ポッジョ・アッレ・ムーラ
Brunello di Montalcino Poggio alle Mura
RedSangiovese
A cru Brunello named for the historic 13th-century castle at the heart of the Banfi estate (Castello Banfi's original name was Poggio alle Mura). Sourced from vineyards surrounding the castle, it shows notes of black cherry, vanilla, cinnamon, licorice, tobacco leaf and graphite, with chalky, textured tannins.
ロッソ・ディ・モンタルチーノ
Rosso di Montalcino
RedSangiovese
Made from 100% select Sangiovese clones grown on the Banfi estate, this is the estate's approachable 'baby Brunello.' Intense ruby red with violet reflections, it shows black cherry, candied orange peel and dark chocolate on the nose, with soft, structured tannins and good acidity for everyday dining.
エクセルサス
Excelsus
RedMerlot · Cabernet Sauvignon
A Bordeaux-style Super Tuscan blend of roughly 60% Merlot and 40% Cabernet Sauvignon, produced only in excellent vintages. Complex aromas of cassis, ripe dark berries, licorice, tobacco, cedar and cocoa lead into a powerful, full-bodied, richly structured palate. The name is Latin for 'eminent.'
スムス
Summus
RedSangiovese · Cabernet Sauvignon · Syrah
A proprietary Sant'Antimo blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah. Sweet, fruity aromas of cherry and plum meet vanilla, licorice, jam, spice, coffee and tobacco; the palate is elegant and balanced, with muscular tannins and a long, mineral-tinged finish built for extended aging.
ベルネロ
Belnero
RedSangiovese · Cabernet Sauvignon · Merlot
A Sant'Antimo blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot that falls outside Brunello DOCG rules. Bold aromas of black cherry, dried blackberry, spice, tar and tobacco lead to a rich, vibrant palate where Sangiovese lends freshness, Cabernet Sauvignon adds structure, and Merlot contributes broad, plush volume.
