Magna Cum Laude
マグナ・クム・ラウデ
Castello Banfi
Sangiovese · Cabernet Sauvignon · Merlot · Syrah
About this wine
A proprietary Toscana IGT blend combining Montalcino's Sangiovese Grosso (the Brunello clone) with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah. Aromas of blackberry, plum, licorice, black olive and pipe tobacco lead to a full-bodied palate with supple tannins and layers of dark fruit, cedar and tobacco through a long finish.
A four-grape Super Tuscan that balances Sangiovese's tradition with the richness of international varieties.
Sommelier's Note
"Magna Cum Laude is Banfi's most complete expression of the Super Tuscan idea — Sangiovese for backbone, three international varieties for richness and polish."
