Cantina Barbanera

Aglianico · Primitivo

About this wine

Outside Tuscany, Barbanera also produces wines from Puglia in southern Italy. This Puglia IGT blends Aglianico and Primitivo into an intense dark red wine with purple hues, good texture and structure. The nose shows deep blackberry, subtle floral notes, and round sweet spice, while the palate is dense, powerful, and persistent — a bold Southern Italian red at around 13% ABV.

Beginner's Note

A bold, warm-climate red for those who enjoy dark fruit and firm tannins beyond Tuscany's Sangiovese.

Sommelier's Note

"Two of Puglia's boldest grapes in one bottle — this is Barbanera showing that Tuscany isn't its only strength."

Food Pairings

Best with red meats of all kinds, and mature or semi-mature cheeses; its power also stands up to grilled sausages and barbecue.

When to drink it

Barbecues, hearty red-meat dinners, cheese-focused gatherings
