Known for producing rich, fleshy, and structured red wines with notes of dark plums, licorice, and chocolate, the estate was managed by the Pourquet-Bécot family for decades. Château Grand-Puy-Ducasse is a 5ème Grand Cru Classé of the 1855 Bordeaux Classification, located in the Pauillac appellation of the Médoc. Unlike most Bordeaux châteaux, its historic building sits on the quays of the town of Pauillac overlooking the Gironde Estuary rather than amid its vineyards — a distinction it has held since 1820, when the Ducasse family constructed their winery on the waterfront, making it the only Pauillac château to vinify in the heart of town for two centuries. The estate's origins trace to 1675 when Arnaud Ducasse acquired riverside property in Pauillac; subsequent generations expanded holdings across three parishes (Pauillac, Saint-Lambert, Saint-Sauveur) bordering the great estates of Lafite Rothschild, Mouton Rothschild, and Pontet Canet. Purchased in 2004 by CA Grands Crus (a subsidiary of Crédit Agricole Group), the estate underwent a decade-long modernisation culminating in the July 2024 inauguration of the 'Renaissance' project: a stunning cellar renovation featuring 55 truncated-cone stainless-steel vats (46 suspended from the ceiling to maximise space), enabling precise parcel-by-parcel vinification across 51 separate parcels. The 40-hectare vineyard spans 60 parcels across 11 distinct soil types — the most diverse terroir mosaic in Pauillac — planted to approximately 62% Cabernet Sauvignon, 36% Merlot, and up to 9% Petit Verdot. A gradual organic transition begun in 2014 achieved full certification in 2025. The wines are aged 18–24 months in French oak barrels with 30–40% new wood, producing structured, aromatic Pauillac of classical character with 15–30 years of ageing potential.

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is a 1855 Fifth Growth (Cinquième Grand Cru Classé) estate in Pauillac, widely regarded as one of the finest values in all of Bordeaux. The property traces its roots to the 16th century; after phylloxera nearly destroyed the estate, the Borie family acquired it in 1978 when Jean-Eugène Borie purchased it from Raymond Dupin. Today it is managed by François-Xavier Borie, who has overseen a complete renovation of vineyards and cellars since 2004, assisted by oenological consultant Éric Boissenot. The estate owns an exceptional 64-hectare single-block vineyard on the Grand-Puy plateau — unusually, the plots have remained virtually unchanged since the 1855 Classification. The blend is dominated by Cabernet Sauvignon (75%), with Merlot (20%) and Cabernet Franc (5%). Grand-Puy-Lacoste consistently produces wines that punch well above their Fifth Growth classification: structured, elegant, and age-worthy, with signature cassis, graphite, cedar, and tobacco complexity. It is a sister estate to Château Ducru-Beaucaillou (Saint-Julien), with Bruno Borie running Ducru and François-Xavier running Grand-Puy-Lacoste.

Château Gruaud-Larose is a historic Second Growth (2ème Cru Classé) estate in the Saint-Julien appellation of the Médoc, Bordeaux, classified in the landmark 1855 Bordeaux Classification. The estate's origins date to 1725 when Catholic priest Joseph Stanislas Gruaud acquired 50 hectares and began planting vines. Upon his death in 1781, his nephew Chevalier de Larose inherited and expanded the vineyard to 80 hectares, lending his name to the château. The wine gained royal favour and the motto 'Le Roi des Vins, Le Vin des Rois' (King of Wines, The Wine of Kings) was coined — a phrase still embossed on the label today, encircling a heraldic crest featuring two lions (referencing Eleanor of Aquitaine and King Henry II of England), a sailing ship, and grape bunches flanked by anchors. After a 19th-century split into two entities (Gruaud-Larose Sarget and Gruaud-Larose Bethmann), the estate was reunited by the Cordier family in 1935. In 1997, the Merlaut family (Taillan Group) acquired the château, ushering in a new era of investment in quality. Today the 82-hectare vineyard is planted with 61% Cabernet Sauvignon, 29% Merlot, 7% Cabernet Franc, and 3% Petit Verdot. The estate is notable for having more clay in its terroir than any other Saint-Julien property — a characteristic that imparts exceptional body and structure. The château received organic certification with the 2022 vintage and has been biodynamic since 2019. The second wine, Sarget de Gruaud-Larose, was introduced in 1981.

Château Guerry is a 19-hectare estate in Tauriac, Côtes de Bourg, acquired in 2004 by Bernard Magrez — the renowned négociant known for owning over 40 châteaux worldwide. The vineyard sits on hillside terroir recognized for viticulture since the 12th century, historically dubbed 'la première filleule de Bordeaux' (the first godchild of Bordeaux). Clay-limestone soils give the wines structure and freshness. What sets Château Guerry apart from typical Bordeaux is its atypical blend: 55% Merlot, 20% Malbec, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Cabernet Franc. The 20% Malbec is rare in the Bordeaux right bank and adds a vivid blackberry character, spice, and juiciness that makes the wine more approachable than many Bordeaux at a similar price point. Wines are aged 9 months in French oak barrels, balancing fruit expression with gentle structure.
