About this wine

Yellow Magic Winery's HipHop Mix is a vibrant, naturally sparkling pétillant naturel rosé from Nanyo City, Yamagata, Japan. Crafted from Delaware, Steuben, and Shine Muscat grapes grown without pesticides on the estate vineyard, it undergoes foot-crushing and semi-carbonic maceration (Semi-MC) for 50–100 days. A portion of early-harvested Delaware orange wine is blended before bottle secondary fermentation, resulting in a wild, juicy pet-nat with explosive aromas, lively bubbles, and a seductive, fruit-driven palate. Produced with zero added sulfites and unfiltered.

Beginner's Note

A super fun, juicy sparkling wine that drinks like fresh fruit juice with a playful kick—perfect for natural wine beginners and anyone who usually finds wine too serious!

Sommelier's Note

"A masterpiece of Japanese pétillant naturel that redefines the potential of hybrid grapes. The explosive aromatic complexity from Semi-MC, the seamless blend of Delaware's delicate floral charm and Steuben's wild berry energy, and the lively bottle-fermented bubbles create a wine of irresistible seductive character. An absolute must-try for natural wine lovers."

Food Pairings

Pairs exceptionally well with lightly spiced Asian dishes, charcuterie, and fresh summer rolls. Its vibrant acidity and juicy fruitiness also cut beautifully through the richness of roasted poultry, pork belly, and teriyaki. Excellent with izakaya-style food.

When to drink it

Perfect for casual backyard barbecues, lively home parties with friends, outdoor picnics, and izakaya-style gatherings where the mood is celebratory and relaxed.

Terroir & Winemaking

Estate grapes (Delaware, Steuben, Shine Muscat) are cultivated in Nanyo City, Yamagata without any chemical pesticides—including Bordeaux mixture and sulfur. Whole bunches are foot-crushed and undergo semi-carbonic maceration (Semi-MC) in tanks for 50–100 days, blending traits of skin-contact vinification and carbonic maceration. After complete fermentation, a portion of early-harvested pink Delaware orange wine is blended, followed by secondary fermentation in the bottle. Unfiltered, unfined, zero added sulfites (SO2). Alcohol approximately 11%.
