Chardonnay Premier Aokihara is the top-tier Chardonnay in Swiss Village Winery's white wine lineup, made from 100% Chardonnay grown in the Aokihara district of Ikeda-machi (Kitaazumi-gun), Nagano Prefecture. It shows youthful green apple and grapefruit aromas backed by rich extract and a crisp, clean finish. Compared to the winery's more casual Chardonnay clair, made from grapes grown around Azumino city, the Premier Aokihara offers a more concentrated, structured expression from a single growing area. It is a dry white best served at 8-10°C.
The most structured of Swiss Village's Chardonnays — its rich extract and crisp finish show what the Aokihara vineyard can achieve in a single-origin bottling.
