Chardonnay clair is Swiss Village Winery's lighter, more approachable Chardonnay, made from 100% Chardonnay grapes grown in Azumino city, Nagano Prefecture (2023 harvest). Its name comes from the French word 'clair,' meaning 'bright' or 'light-shining.' It shows delicate white peach aromas in a crisp, dry style. Compared to the winery's single-vineyard Chardonnay Premier Aokihara, grown in the Aokihara district of Ikeda-machi, Chardonnay clair offers a softer, easier-drinking expression from Azumino's grapes. Best served at 8-10°C.

Sommelier's Note

The most approachable Chardonnay in Swiss Village's lineup — where Premier Aokihara shows concentration, clair shows effortless, everyday charm.
