Ofuroze is OSA WINERY's light, juicy, off-dry rosé sparkling wine from Otaru, Hokkaido, built around the concept of 'a grown-up treat after a bath.' Following well-received 2021 and 2023 vintages, this 2024 release is the wine's third edition. The blend is led by Campbell Early (52%) grown in Yoichi and Otaru, Hokkaido, with the estate increasing the share of Pinot Noir (24%) and Zweigelt (24%) in 2024 to add more fruit depth and body. After secondary fermentation in bottle, the wine is deliberately left undisgorged, retaining a faint lees haze, and carbonated to a slightly higher pressure (about 3 atmospheres) for a crisp, grown-up finish. It shows a pale sakura-pink hue with bright, fresh aromas of white peach, plum, apple and a hint of yogurt. The label was illustrated by Otaru-based artist 'Kumannu,' depicting a relaxed bear. Only 557 bottles were produced.

Sommelier's Note

True to its 'switch-off rosé' concept, this is an everyday, unpretentious sparkling rosé that reframes how Hokkaido wine can fit into daily life.

New to wine?

A juicy, easy-drinking off-dry rosé sparkling — approachable even for sparkling wine beginners.

Food Pairings

Delicious on its own as a relaxing after-bath treat — well-balanced enough to sip without food. It also pairs nicely with spicy Chinese or Korean dishes, which bring out the wine's fruity sweetness. Serve well chilled.

When to drink it

Perfect for unwinding after a bath, or for a quiet night in when you want to switch off and relax.

Terroir & Winemaking

A blend of Campbell Early (52%), Pinot Noir (24%) and Zweigelt (24%) grown in Yoichi and Otaru, Hokkaido. After secondary fermentation in bottle, the wine is left undisgorged in a pét-nat-style approach, retaining a light lees haze, at roughly 3 atmospheres of pressure. Store the bottle upright, chill thoroughly, and open slowly to release gas gently. The sediment at the bottom is harmless. Only 557 bottles produced.
