Barolo Bricco Boschis

バローロ ブリッコ・ボスキス

Cavallotto

Nebbiolo

About this wine

Cavallotto's flagship Barolo, sourced entirely from the family's monopole Bricco Boschis vineyard in Castiglione Falletto, certified organic since 1976. Fermented with indigenous yeasts and macerated on the skins for roughly 20-35 days, the wine ages for around 3 to 3.5 years in large Slavonian oak botti before further bottle aging. The result is a classic, traditionally styled Barolo showing cherry, raspberry and plum fruit shaded by earth, menthol and tar, with firm but polished tannins that balance power and elegance.

Beginner's Note

A textbook, traditionally made Barolo — powerful yet elegant, best after an hour of decanting.

Sommelier's Note

When to drink it

Special dinners, milestone celebrations, and pairing with rich braised meat dishes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes Cavallotto Barolo Bricco Boschis distinctive?
It comes exclusively from the family's own Bricco Boschis vineyard, certified organic since 1976, and is aged in large traditional Slavonian oak casks rather than small new-oak barriques, preserving Nebbiolo's pure fruit and aromatic character.
How long can this Barolo age?
Thanks to Nebbiolo's high acidity and tannin, Cavallotto Bricco Boschis can age gracefully for 15-20+ years, though it is also approachable with 1-2 hours of decanting when young.
What food pairs best with this wine?
Rich, slow-cooked dishes work best: braised beef, brasato al Barolo, game, aged hard cheeses, and truffle dishes all complement its tannin and acidity.
Is Cavallotto's winemaking organic?
Yes. The Cavallotto family began organic viticulture in the mid-1970s, among the earliest in Barolo, and today farms biodynamically as well.
