Castello di Cacchiano
Sangiovese
About this wine
Cacchiano's top wine, made exclusively from 100% Sangiovese sourced from the estate's finest parcels in the Gaiole UGA, and produced only in exceptional vintages in limited quantities. It develops an intense, enveloping bouquet of ripe cherry and plum with spicy, faintly balsamic nuances — reviewers have also noted black truffle and damson on top vintages. On the palate it is elegant and harmonious, with multi-layered, well-integrated tannins and fresh acidity, built for long aging.
Not a starting point — this is Cacchiano's ultimate expression of Sangiovese, best approached after getting to know the Chianti Classico and Riserva.
Sommelier's Note
"Millennio is proof that a single-variety, single-estate Sangiovese from Gaiole can rival Chianti Classico's most famous Gran Selezione bottlings — layered, structured, and utterly serious."
Food Pairings
Best with structured, flavorful dishes — red meats, braised game, roasts, and aged cheeses that can stand up to its concentration and tannin.
When to drink it
Milestone celebrations, fine dining, serious cellar collecting

キャンティ・クラシコ
Chianti Classico
RedSangiovese · Canaiolo · Malvasia Nera · Colorino
The estate's flagship annata, built around roughly 95% Sangiovese with Canaiolo, Malvasia Nera and Colorino from vineyards in the Gaiole UGA at 380-500m on galestro and alberese soils. It is aged for around 44 months in large Allier oak casks — far longer than the DOCG minimum — before release, giving it unusual depth for a base-tier Chianti Classico. Intensely fruity, with blackcurrant and wild cherry driving the nose and palate, framed by fresh acidity and fine, structured tannins.
キャンティ・クラシコ・リゼルヴァ
Chianti Classico Riserva
RedSangiovese · Canaiolo · Malvasia Nera · Colorino
Sourced from the estate's top vineyard parcels, this Riserva is roughly 95% Sangiovese with small additions of Canaiolo, Malvasia Nera and Colorino. It undergoes extended aging of around 36-45 months across large Slavonian/Allier oak, tonneaux and barriques, producing a wine of ruby-garnet color with aromas of ripe fruit and spice. On the palate it is fresh and balanced, with silky tannins, notes of ripe cherry and plum, and delicate hints of sweet spice, tobacco and balsamic — built for 10 to 20 years of cellaring.
ヴィン・サント・デル・キャンティ・クラシコ
Vin Santo del Chianti Classico
SweetMalvasia Bianca del Chianti · Canaiolo
A traditional Tuscan passito made from roughly 85% Malvasia Bianca del Chianti and 15% Canaiolo, hand-selected and dried on straw racks (graticci) in the castle's lofts before being aged for many years in small chestnut barrels (caratelli). The result is a mature, amber-hued dessert wine with tertiary aromas and a slightly smoky, botrytis-touched character; the palate is medium-sweet, centered on sour apricot fruit, with a concentrated, grippy finish.
