Cascina Bongiovanni
カッシーナ・ボンジョヴァンニ
A family-run Barolo estate rooted in Castiglione Falletto since 1950.
Founded in 1950 by Giovanni Bongiovanni, this small family estate sits in the heart of Castiglione Falletto, one of Barolo's most prestigious communes. Today the winery is run by his grandson Davide Mozzone, together with his wife Marina and children Luca and Sara, who tend roughly 6.5-7 hectares of vineyard mostly by hand. The estate follows organic principles with biodynamic nuances, such as the use of green manure, though it is not officially certified. Arneis, Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo round out the range, but Barolo is the true protagonist, most notably the single-vineyard Pernanno, sourced from the estate's cru plot in Castiglione Falletto with small parcels also in Diano d'Alba and Serralunga d'Alba. Pernanno has drawn strong scores from James Suckling, Wine Spectator and Vinous, prized for its balance of grip and freshness.
