About this wine

50&50 is a unique collaboration between Capannelle and fellow Tuscan producer Avignonesi, blending Capannelle's Sangiovese from Gaiole in Chianti with Avignonesi's Merlot from Montepulciano in equal parts. Aged for 24 months in French barriques, it offers deep ruby color, aromas of black cherry, blueberry, and sweet spice, with a silky, elegant palate.

Beginner's Note

An approachable, fruit-forward introduction to Super Tuscan blends thanks to Merlot's softness balancing Sangiovese's structure.

Sommelier's Note

"A genuinely rare thing in wine — two independent estates co-fermenting their signature grapes as true equals. 50&50 tastes like a handshake between Chianti Classico and Montepulciano."

Food Pairings

A natural match for braised short ribs, wild boar pappardelle, and hard aged cheeses. Its velvety tannins also work well with slightly sweet glazed meats.
