Cantina Rizzi

Nebbiolo

About this wine

The estate's entry-level Nebbiolo, sourced from younger vines and declassified Barbaresco-appellation plots. Bright ruby red with floral, fruity and spicy aromas of crisp cherry, rose petal, lilac and bitter almond, riper fruit on the palate, and tightly woven, mouthwatering tannins. Fermented in stainless steel for three weeks and aged 12 months in large Slavonian oak.

Beginner's Note

The most approachable way to experience Rizzi's Nebbiolo style without the price tag or aging requirement of Barbaresco.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is Langhe Nebbiolo different from Barbaresco?
It's made from younger vines or plots that don't qualify for Barbaresco DOCG, and requires less aging, making it fresher and more affordable.
Can I drink this wine young?
Yes — unlike the estate's Barbaresco bottlings, it's designed to be enjoyed within a few years of release.
What food pairs well with it?
Charcuterie, grilled sausages, and tomato-based pasta dishes suit its bright fruit and moderate tannin.
