Colli dell'Uccellina

コッリ・デッルッチェッリーナ

Cantina La Selva

Sangiovese · Merlot

About this wine

A Morellino di Scansano Riserva DOCG named after the Uccellina hills where the fruit is grown, blending roughly 85% Sangiovese with 15% Merlot. After fermentation, the Sangiovese macerates on the skins for extended contact while the Merlot is placed directly into new French oak barriques; the Sangiovese is then aged in French oak tonneaux for around 12 months. Full-bodied, with notes of incense, spice, toasted oak and dark red fruit.

Beginner's Note

A step up from base Morellino di Scansano — more concentration and oak spice for those ready for structure.

Sommelier's Note

"The Riserva expression of Morellino that shows just how much depth Sangiovese can gain from a touch of Merlot and new oak."

Food Pairings

Full-bodied and spicy — pairs well with wild boar ragù, grilled lamb, and aged pecorino toscano.
