About this wine

The estate's flagship single-vineyard Barbaresco from the heart of the Ovello cru, where the Vacca family has farmed since the 1920s. Sourced from vines up to 70 years old on the cru's distinctive limestone-and-sand soils in a cool, breezy microclimate, this bottling is widely regarded as one of Barbaresco's most consistently thrilling cru expressions, showing violet, wild berry, and licorice aromas with fine, persistent tannins.

Beginner's Note

Not a shy wine — expect firm tannins in youth, so decant generously or cellar a few years before opening.

Sommelier's Note

"Ovello is Cantina del Pino's soul — from 70-year-old vines on the cru's iconic limestone-and-sand soils, this is one of the most consistently thrilling single-vineyard Barbarescos on the market."
