Grown in Serralunga d'Alba on light-colored, highly calcareous marl soils, this Barbera Superiore is violet red with dark ruby reflections. An ample nose of ripe dark berries and spice leads to a full, well-balanced palate with soft, rounded tannins.
La Gamberaja shows how far Barbera can go with careful barrel aging — riper and richer than Stella, without losing its identity.
New to wine?
A step up from everyday Barbera — riper and more structured, a good next step after trying the Stella bottling.
Food Pairings
Its riper, more structured style pairs well with braised meats, mushroom dishes, and aged cheeses.
When to drink it
Dinner parties centered on braised or grilled meats, and mushroom-forward menus.
Terroir & Winemaking
