About this wine
Barolo Menico is Cà Brusà's traditional flagship Barolo, made from 100% Nebbiolo grown on vines averaging 30 years old in soils balanced between clay, silt, and sand. The wine ages 15 months in small oak barrels, then 10 months in large 25-hectoliter casks, followed by a further 12 months of refinement in bottle before release. The result is a pure, intense Barolo with aromas of dried roses, dark fruit, smoke, and licorice, and a palate layered with plum, cinnamon, violet, cherry, and licorice.
A textbook introduction to traditional Barolo — firm but not fierce.
Sommelier's Note
