Borgo Casa al Vento

Sangiovese

About this wine

V'Incanto is Borgo Casa al Vento's Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG, the estate's top wine and Italy's highest Chianti Classico classification. Production is extremely limited — fewer than 1,000 bottles in most vintages — from a rigorous selection of the best Sangiovese, fermented in stainless steel and aged 24 months in barrique and French tonneaux. The wine shows a vibrant ruby-red hue with garnet highlights, an intricate bouquet of ripe prunes and cherries layered with spiced wood and delicate violet, and a dry, warm, full-bodied palate with firm but polished tannins and a long, elegant finish.

Beginner's Note

The estate's rare, top-tier cuvée — best appreciated after trying Aria or Foho first.

Sommelier's Note

"The estate's rarest bottling — under 1,000 bottles a year — and the fullest expression of Gaiole's Sangiovese in Chianti Classico's top tier."
