About this wine
Benito Ferrara's single-vineyard Aglianico, named for the point where four municipal boundaries meet, within the Taurasi DOCG zone around Tufo and Montemiletto. Grown on limestone and calcareous clay soils with full southern exposure, it is hand-harvested late in the season and aged partly in barrique for extended structure; depending on the vintage's classification, it has been released as Irpinia Aglianico DOC or as Taurasi DOCG. It shows a reductive, mineral-driven style with red and black fruit, rosemary and sweet spice, framed by firm, velvety tannins - Benito Ferrara's most serious and age-worthy red.
Not a starter wine - this is Benito Ferrara's most serious, age-worthy red, best approached after getting to know Passo del Lupo first.
