About this wine
Sourced from the Punta vineyard, a plot unusually positioned right at the top of a hill — rare for Barbera, which is more commonly planted on lesser sites — allowing for optimal ripening from vines averaging 60 years old. The result is a Barbera of unusual concentration and structure: forest berries, prune and blackberry fruit riding on Barbera's signature bright, mouth-watering acidity, balanced by the wine's ripeness into a gentle yet vivid character.
A great everyday red for those who love high acidity and dark fruit without heavy tannin.
Sommelier's Note
"This hilltop parcel gives Azelia's Barbera a concentration and poise rarely found in the variety — proof Barbera deserves more respect."

Frequently Asked Questions

- What does this wine taste like?
- Forest berries, prune and blackberry dominate, framed by Barbera's signature bright acidity and a gentle, rounded character from the ripe fruit.
- How does Barbera differ from Nebbiolo in Azelia's range?
- Barbera offers deep color and high acidity with soft tannins, making it more immediately approachable than the structured, tannic Nebbiolo-based wines like Barolo.

バローロ
Barolo
RedNebbiolo
Azelia's entry-level Barolo is a blend of fruit from seven historic single vineyards spanning both Castiglione Falletto and Serralunga d'Alba — roughly 30% from the calcareous, white marl soils of Castiglione and 70% from the clay-rich slopes of Serralunga. Aged for two years in large Slavonian oak casks, it offers a classic, accessible expression of Nebbiolo: sweet-fruited, fine-tannined, and true to the estate's precise, terroir-driven style.
バローロ ブリッコ・フィアスコ
Barolo Bricco Fiasco
RedNebbiolo
First released in 1978 from vines already 40 years old, Bricco Fiasco is Azelia's founding single-vineyard Barolo and arguably its calling card. The 1.5-hectare cru sits in Castiglione Falletto at about 250m altitude on south-facing, white calcareous soil, and takes its name from the flask-like ('fiasc' in Piedmontese dialect) shape of the hillside. Vines now average 65 years old. The wine channels the radiant, perfumed personality typical of Castiglione Falletto — floral, red-fruited, and vibrant, with the depth to age for decades.
バローロ マルゲリア
Barolo Margheria
RedNebbiolo
Margheria is one of the most celebrated MGA crus of Serralunga d'Alba, and Azelia's holding sits on a southwest-facing slope of poor, white clay soil opposite the famed Perno vineyard, forcing vines — averaging 65 years old — to root deep. Luigi and Lorenzo Scavino extend maceration up to 60 days and age the wine in large casks for 30 months, resulting in a Barolo that is dense, powerful and structured, yet retains real freshness.
バローロ サン・ロッコ
Barolo San Rocco
RedNebbiolo
San Rocco was the first vineyard Azelia acquired in Serralunga d'Alba, a small 1.5-hectare parcel on a sloping hillside directly facing the village's San Rocco church — a plot said to embody Luigi Scavino's love for Serralunga. The wine shows the commune's signature power and austerity: licorice, spice and dark fruit — cherry, currant and blueberry — melded with velvety, well-integrated tannins and exceptional aging potential.
バローロ チェレッタ
Barolo Cerretta
RedNebbiolo
Cerretta has been part of the Scavino family's holdings for nearly 30 years, but Azelia first bottled it as a stand-alone single-vineyard Barolo starting with the 2019 vintage. Sourced from south and southwest-facing, 30-year-old Nebbiolo vines in Serralunga d'Alba, the wine undergoes 55-60 days of maceration on the skins with submerged cap and is aged 30 months in 25-50 hL casks of Slavonian, French and Austrian oak — producing a wine of flinty mineral tension, dark fruit, smoke and violet perfume.
バローロ リゼルヴァ ブリッコ・ヴォゲラ
Barolo Riserva Bricco Voghera
RedNebbiolo
Made only in select vintages and limited to roughly 3,000 bottles, Bricco Voghera Riserva is Azelia's most exclusive and long-aged wine, released only after a full decade of maturation — five years in cask followed by five years in bottle. Sourced from old Nebbiolo vines in Serralunga d'Alba, it shows extraordinary complexity: dried and fresh berries, fig, potpourri, Christmas spice, tobacco leaf, graphite and orange zest, wrapped in dense yet elegant tannins.
