About this wine

First released in 1978 from vines already 40 years old, Bricco Fiasco is Azelia's founding single-vineyard Barolo and arguably its calling card. The 1.5-hectare cru sits in Castiglione Falletto at about 250m altitude on south-facing, white calcareous soil, and takes its name from the flask-like ('fiasc' in Piedmontese dialect) shape of the hillside. Vines now average 65 years old. The wine channels the radiant, perfumed personality typical of Castiglione Falletto — floral, red-fruited, and vibrant, with the depth to age for decades.
