Nebbiolo

About this wine

The estate's classic, traditionally-made Barolo DOCG, blending fruit from south/southwest-facing vineyards around La Morra. Made from 100% Nebbiolo with a 15-20 day maceration on the skins and fermentation in cement tank at 27-28°C, it is aged 24 months in large French oak casks (botti), followed by 12 months in cement tank and a further 6 months in bottle before release. Deep garnet red with ruby highlights, it shows an expansive bouquet of spice, wood, and licorice, with a soft, elegant palate typical of traditional La Morra Barolo.

Beginner's Note

A traditionalist's Barolo — structured but never harsh, a good baseline for learning the appellation.

Sommelier's Note

"This is what Barolo tasted like before the modernist wave — soft-spoken, spice-driven, and built for the table, not the score sheet."

Food Pairings

Classic Barolo territory: braised beef, osso buco, truffle risotto, aged Parmigiano-Reggiano, and game dishes with rich, fatty sauces.

When to drink it

Special dinners, milestone celebrations, pairing with slow-cooked meat dishes.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this Barolo made in a traditional or modern style?
Traditional — it uses large French oak botti rather than small new barriques, preserving Nebbiolo's spice and floral character over overt oak flavor.
How long should I age this Barolo?
It is released only after roughly 42 months of combined cask, tank, and bottle aging, so it is approachable on release but can also reward another 5-10 years in the cellar.
What food pairs best with this Barolo?
Braised beef, osso buco, truffle risotto, and aged hard cheeses are classic pairings.
