Sourced from 1.2 hectares of 60-plus-year-old vines in the Croix de Chevre sector of Grand Cras, this Morgon reflects the appellation's rocky, mineral-rich soils. Whole-cluster carbonic maceration with indigenous yeasts gives an earthy, energetic wine with mineral-tinged cherry, black raspberry and violet aromas, dark berry and cherry-preserve flavors with a touch of cola, framed by fresh acidity and tightly bound tannins.
Old-vine Grand Cras fruit gives this Morgon a rare combination of early drinkability and real structural backbone — few natural Beaujolais offer both this convincingly.
