Poursuite is Antoine Sunier's Beaujolais-Villages cuvée, made from organically farmed, roughly 50-year-old vines in Régnié that are declassified from cru status. A short, six-day carbonic maceration started with a pied de cuve and aging in cement produce a bright, fresh, and highly drinkable Gamay with wild strawberry and cranberry fruit, fine tannins and lively acidity.
Poursuite proves that a shorter maceration and simpler aging regime can still deliver honest, expressive Gamay — this is natural Beaujolais at its most joyful and unpretentious.
