Sourced from two old-vine parcels in Villié-Morgon — one planted in 1935 and another in 1865 (pre-phylloxera) — grown on pure granite bedrock and granite sand. A bold, layered wine balancing red, blue, and black fruit with floral and savory notes, aged in large old 600-liter barrels and bottled unfined and unfiltered.
Grown on vines up to nearly 160 years old, including a pre-phylloxera parcel — this is Morgon at its most serious and expressive.
New to wine?
A step up in depth and structure from the base Morgon — still pure Gamay fruit, with more gravitas.
Food Pairings
Pairs well with roast duck, game birds, mushroom risotto, and aged hard cheeses. Benefits from 30-60 minutes of decanting.
When to drink it
Special dinners and moments that call for a wine with a bit more depth and history.

- What does 'pre-phylloxera' mean for this wine?
- One of the two parcels was planted in 1865, before the phylloxera louse devastated European vineyards — meaning these vines grow on their own original rootstock rather than grafted rootstock, which is exceptionally rare today.
- How does Vieilles Vignes differ from the base Morgon?
- It comes from two specific old-vine parcels (1935 and 1865) rather than a broader blend, and is aged longer in larger old barrels, giving it more concentration and structure.
- What is the alcohol content of this wine?
- It is bottled at approximately 14% ABV.
