Sourced from a single one-hectare plot planted in 1935 on the legendary Côte du Py — Morgon's most celebrated site — where blue volcanic schist and manganese-rich soils give the wine intense mineral depth. Fermented 100% whole-cluster and aged in neutral oak, it opens with forest fruit, violet, dark chocolate and spice, leading to a juicy yet layered palate of black cherry and blackberry with a fine, long finish.
Named for a single hectare of 1935 vines on the Côte du Py, this is arguably Thevenet's most terroir-driven wine — mineral, structured, and built to age.

- What makes the Côte du Py site special?
- The Côte du Py is Morgon's most famous hillside, known for its distinctive blue volcanic schist ('roche pourrie') and manganese-rich soils, which give wines exceptional minerality, structure, and aging potential.
- How long can Cuvée Julia be cellared?
- Thanks to its structure and site, it can comfortably age 5-10 years, evolving toward more savory, earthy notes over time.
- How is Cuvée Julia different from the domaine's other Morgon bottlings?
- Unlike the blended base Morgon or the two-parcel Vieilles Vignes, Cuvée Julia is a true single-vineyard wine from one specific hectare on the Côte du Py, giving it a more precise, site-specific character.
