About this wine
Altiero's Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG is a 100% Sangiovese selection aged approximately 24 months in a combination of Hungarian and French oak barrels. Full-bodied and structured, the 2019 and 2020 vintages have been reviewed by Decanter, showing spicy dark fruit and damp-earth complexity typical of the estate's more serious tier.
A step up in structure — approachable but with real tannin and oak, a good introduction to what 'Riserva' means in Chianti.
Sommelier's Note
"Decanter has already put this on the radar — proof that a 3-hectare family estate can compete with names many times its size."
Food Pairings
Bistecca alla Fiorentina, braised beef, wild boar stew, aged pecorino — dishes with enough fat and structure to match the wine's oak and tannin.
When to drink it
Special dinners, grilled red meat, cellar-worthy gifting

キャンティ・クラシコ
Chianti Classico
RedSangiovese
Altiero's entry-level Chianti Classico DOCG (Annata) is made from 100% Sangiovese grown on the estate's Montefioralle hillside plots. Aged approximately 12 months, mostly in large oak, it shows the fresh, rustic, fruit-forward style typical of the young-vine parcels on the property, with a dynamic character balanced by measured oak use.
キャンティ・クラシコ・グラン・セレツィオーネ
Chianti Classico Gran Selezione
RedSangiovese
The top tier of Altiero's range, this Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG is produced exclusively from Sangiovese grown on the hilltop of the estate's oldest vineyard parcel. Aged a minimum of 30 months in oak, it meets the strict Gran Selezione requirements of the Chianti Classico Consortium (estate-grown fruit only, minimum 13% ABV, minimum extract), resulting in the estate's most concentrated and age-worthy wine.
イ・ブラスカ
I'Burrasca
RedMerlot
I'Burrasca is Altiero's single-varietal Merlot, a Toscana IGT 'Super Tuscan'-style bottling made from a small parcel of Merlot planted alongside the estate's Sangiovese. Production is tiny — around 600 bottles per year — resulting in a wine with fair structure and an aromatic, velvety palate.
レ・テラッツェ・デル・ディアヴォロ
Le Terrazze del Diavolo
RedMalvasia Nera
Le Terrazze del Diavolo ('the devil's terraces') is Altiero's Alta Valle della Greve IGT bottling made from 100% Malvasia Nera, an old local variety recovered from vines once thought lost from the area. The name refers to the west-southwest-facing terraced vineyard, mild in winter but scorchingly hot in summer. The wine is aged in traditional Impruneta terracotta jars, and shows a deep, blueberry-like color with a lighter, fruity palate.
ペルリーナ
Perlina
