Sauvignon Blanc is a single-varietal white wine from Nakamura Wine Kobo, a tiny family winery in the Asuka district of Habikino, Osaka. First released with the 2017 vintage in a very limited run of around 120 bottles, it is made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc — distinct from the winery's blended "Sachiko" series, in which Sauvignon Blanc is combined with Koshu (and, in the standard bottling, Riesling and Delaware). Grown on the family's own hillside vineyard, it shows the variety's fresh fruit character and crisp acidity, and has been described by retailers as full-bodied and generous, reflecting owner-winemaker Genji Nakamura's own straightforward, hands-on character.

Sommelier's Note

Where Gold Sachiko blends Sauvignon Blanc with Koshu for a rounder profile, this bottling lets the variety speak entirely on its own — full-bodied, crisp and unmistakably Nakamura.

New to wine?

A rare chance to taste Nakamura Wine Kobo's Sauvignon Blanc on its own — bold and crisp, without the rounding blend of the "Sachiko" series.

Food Pairings

Its crisp acidity and full-bodied character make it a versatile match for seafood — especially grilled or lightly seasoned white fish — as well as fresh salads and dishes with a touch of citrus.

When to drink it

A rare-find bottle for Sauvignon Blanc lovers and Nakamura Wine Kobo fans; pairs well with a seafood-centered dinner.
