Les Vins Vivants is a husband-and-wife natural wine and cider producer in Tomi City, Nagano Prefecture, part of the Chikuma River Wine Valley. Founded in October 2019 by Takahiro Ogino, who trained for six years at Grace Wine in Yamanashi before working harvests in Beaujolais and Alsace, and his wife Tomoko, who studied grape and apple cultivation locally, the estate farms roughly 4 hectares of Gamay trained in the traditional low gobelet style, alongside Chenin Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir on trellises, plus 0.8 hectares of apples grown under reasoned viticulture. No chemical herbicides or pesticides are used; fermentation relies on indigenous wild yeast with no added sulfites, and wines are typically unfined and unfiltered. Their motto, "wine is a living thing," reflects a hands-on, terroir-first approach. Alongside still and pétillant wines, the winery is equally known for its méthode ancestrale ciders made from Tomi-grown apples, released under names such as Mizuiro, Hakuro and Aoi.
