Zen Sparkling Rosé is the newest addition to Iwanohara Vineyard's everyday-drinking 'Zen' line, named in honor of Zenbei Kawakami, the 'Father of Japanese Wine' who founded the winery in 1890 in Joetsu, Niigata. It is Iwanohara's first-ever wine made using the carbonation (CO2-injection) method rather than traditional bottle or tank fermentation, built on Muscat Bailey A — the signature red grape Kawakami himself bred in 1927. The result is a light, refreshingly crisp dry sparkling rosé with a touch of natural sweetness, gentle bubbles, and Muscat Bailey A's characteristic soft berry aromatics. It is sealed with a resealable Zork cap, making it easy to open, re-close, and enjoy over multiple occasions, including outdoors.
The first carbonation-style sparkling wine in Iwanohara's history — a fun, fruit-forward showcase of Muscat Bailey A that proves Japan's own red grape can shine every bit as brightly in bubble form.
