TOMOE Pinot Noir is Hiroshima Miyoshi Winery's standard red-wine expression of estate-grown Pinot Noir from the Miyoshi Basin — vinified as a conventional red, unlike its sibling cuvée TOMOE Pinot Noir Byakuya, which presses the same variety as a rare Blanc de Noirs (white). Medium-light bodied with a deep ruby color, it opens with smoky, black tea, cranberry, earthy and truffle-like aromas, followed by a burst of fruit on the palate, clean acidity, silky tannins and a smooth, lingering texture. It offers an accessible, everyday-drinking counterpart to the more experimental white Byakuya bottling.

Sommelier's Note

Where Byakuya surprises as a white made from a black grape, TOMOE Pinot Noir lets the same Miyoshi Basin fruit speak plainly as red wine — well worth tasting side by side with its white sibling.

New to wine?

A more approachable, everyday-priced red expression of Japanese Pinot Noir — a gentle entry point compared to the winery's experimental white Byakuya bottling.

Food Pairings

Pairs well with sautéed pork, seafood sautéed in butter, roast duck, and Japanese dishes centered on root vegetables.

When to drink it

Great for everyday dinners, casual gatherings, or as an easy introduction to Japanese red Pinot Noir.

Terroir & Winemaking

Made from 100% estate-grown Pinot Noir cultivated in the Miyoshi Basin, Hiroshima Prefecture. Vinified as a conventional red wine (not a Blanc de Noirs like the winery's Byakuya bottling). Medium-light body, ABV 12%, 750ml bottle.
