Yorukana is a distinctive dry blend from Hakko Chaud (formerly Domaine Chaud), a natural-wine estate on the Niigata Wine Coast run by winemaker Hideo Kobayashi. It combines four grapes grown in Mitsuke City, Niigata — the table grape Kyoho, the classic white variety Chardonnay, the red Bordeaux grape Merlot, and the aromatic American hybrid Steuben — into a single cuvée that sits in color somewhere between a pale white and a soft pink. A delicate, gentle micro-sparkle ties the blend together, in keeping with the estate's low-intervention, minimal-sulfite house style. The result is an easy, refreshing, food-friendly wine designed for everyday drinking rather than special-occasion sipping.

Sommelier's Note

A playful, only-in-Niigata blend — pairing a table grape like Kyoho with Chardonnay and Merlot shouldn't work on paper, but Hakko Chaud's light touch turns it into an effortlessly drinkable everyday wine.
