Jolly Jolly Holiday is an orange wine from Hakko Chaud (formerly Domaine Chaud), a small natural winery on the Niigata Wine Coast. Made entirely from Delaware grapes harvested in the unusually hot, dry 2023 vintage, this cuvée is a pale pink-orange wine with a gentle natural sparkle, sweet floral aromatics, and bright, lively acidity balanced by soft fruit and a touch of tannin. Winemaker Hideo Kobayashi describes it as an ideal match for seafood, ayu (sweetfish) in particular.
A distinctive, spritzy orange Delaware that captures the hot 2023 vintage in a glass — one of Hakko Chaud's most food-friendly seafood pairings, especially with ayu.
New to wine?
A playful, easy-drinking orange wine with a slight fizz — a friendly first step into natural, low-intervention wine.
Food Pairings
Its firm acidity and light tannin structure make it a natural partner for seafood. The producer recommends grilled ayu (sweetfish) in particular, alongside squid, shellfish, and other grilled or salted fish.
When to drink it
Great for casual gatherings, seafood dinners, or bringing to a sushi restaurant — serve chilled and let it warm slightly in the glass to see its character shift.
