A single-vineyard Riesling from the granitic Grand Cru Winzenberg, the estate's flagship holding on the hillside above Blienschwiller. Elegant and refined, it expresses the mineral, energetic character of granite soil with a fine, complex nose of citrus and orchard fruit, an opulent yet fresh and mineral palate, good tension and long persistence. Vintages have consistently scored in the 93-94/100 range from critics.
The clearest expression of granite in the Metz range — taut, mineral, and built for the long haul.
New to wine?
A great introduction to what granite terroir tastes like in a dry Alsace Riesling.
Food Pairings
Excellent with iodized, ocean-driven dishes: oysters, sea urchin, shellfish, and risottos. The wine's freshness also rebalances richer, cooked preparations.
When to drink it
Special-occasion seafood dinners, Grand Cru tastings
Terroir & Winemaking
Fruit is sourced entirely from the estate's 2-hectare holding on the granitic Grand Cru Winzenberg, farmed organically (certified since 2021) and biodynamically since 2023. Low-intervention winemaking in the tradition of the estate, aiming for wines that find their natural balance over long, unhurried élevage.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What makes the Winzenberg Grand Cru site special?
- Winzenberg is a granite-soil Grand Cru on the hillside above Blienschwiller. Granite gives Riesling here a mineral, energetic tension that is distinct from the estate's clay and limestone parcels.
- Is this Riesling dry or off-dry?
- It is vinified in a dry, taut style, letting the granite minerality and citrus fruit lead rather than residual sweetness.
- How long can this wine age?
- Grand Cru Riesling from granite terroirs like Winzenberg is built for extended aging; the wine's structure and acidity typically allow it to develop positively for a decade or more.
